Kick Off Thanksgiving In Northwest Hills: Annual Turkey Trot At 8:30 A.M.

Thanksgiving morning in Northwest Hills has its own tradition and it starts on Mesa Drive.

The Northwest Hills Annual Turkey Trot is back this Thanksgiving morning. It is a relaxed 2.4 mile trot, run or walk through the neighborhood that starts and finishes at 7502 Mesa Drive. It begins promptly at 8:30 a.m., so you can move your legs, say hi to your neighbors and still be home in plenty of time for the big feast.

The route is a loop through the heart of Northwest Hills, Starting at 7502 Mesa Drive and winding thru Burney Dr. On to the quiet streets of West Rim Dr, cutting over to Farhills Dr,  and finishing up back on Mesa Drive. It is long enough to feel like you earned that second slice of pie, but short enough that kids, grandparents and casual walkers can enjoy it too.

Northwest Hills Annual Turkey Trot is on Thanksgiving morning! Join up for a 2.4 mile trot, run or walk around the neighborhood, or cheer everyone in from your front yard. It will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome to join, pets as well.
 

Bring your family, your houseguests and your pups. Roll up with a stroller, a scooter or just your favorite pair of walking shoes. If running is not your thing, step out to the curb with coffee in hand and cheer on the crowd as they pass. The group photo from a past year says it all: bikes, strollers, joggers and walkers of every pace lined up together in front of the houses along Mesa, taking a moment to be part of something local and joyful before the day takes off.

Events like this are what make Northwest Hills feel like a real village inside the city. You get to wave at people you usually only see in passing, learn a few new names, and remember how lucky we are to live in a neighborhood with shady streets, big trees and people who actually show up for each other.

So set your alarm, turn the oven to preheat, and then head to 7502 Mesa Drive on Thanksgiving morning. Together you will take a 2.4 mile spin around Northwest Hills, say thanks for good neighbors and good health, and walk back into our homes a little more connected than when we left.
